WELS South Atlantic District Camps are amazing, for one simple reason: They use the Gospel to encourage everyone who comes as much as possible.

In addition, the revenue from these camps makes it possible for the South Atlantic District to assist families and students with trips to visit the WELS ministerial education schools - MLS, LPS, MLC, and WLS - as they consider full-time called ministry.

WELS SOUTHERN SKI WEEKEND | (February 7-9, 2025)

WHO: All youth ages 11-18
WHAT: An exciting weekend in the mountains of Gatlinburg! Activities include skiing, snowboarding, games, Bible study, worship, meeting new friends, and good food.
WHERE: Lodging is at the Edgewater Resort; Skiing / Snowboarding is at Ober Gatlingberg
WHEN: February 7-9, 2025 (Activities begin Friday night and go through Sunday afternoon)
HOW: The cost for skiing and snowboarding is $200 and $125 for no activity. This registration cost covers lodging, the tram ride, breakfasts at the hotel, and the activity on Saturday. Lunch and dinner are left for each church/youth group to cover. (Each church will receive one invoice and send in one payment per group.)

The Amazing Race | June 17-20, 2025

The Amazing Race is held every other year when we don’t have the WELS International Youth Rally. The next International Youth Rally will take place in Fort Collins, CO in June of 2024.

WHO: Youth entering grade 9 (as of fall 2025) or just graduating grade 12 (as of Spring 2025)
WHAT: The most fun you’ll have this summer. A team scavenger hunt through Disney’s Animal Kingdom, inspiring keynotes, an amazing resort, and a great chance to grow with people at the same point in life’s journey.

CAMP SOUTH | (July 21-25, 2025)

WHO: Youth entering grades 4-9.
WHAT: The most fun you’ll have this summer. Incredible activities (tough mudder, zip line, inflatables, massive group competitions), next-level worship, and more new friends than you can count.
WHERE: Georgia FFA Camp, just outside of Atlanta.

WHEN: Arrive on Monday, July 21st between 2:30-5:30pm. Head home at 11am on Friday, July 25th.
HOW: Look for registration to open in early 2025.

SCHOOL TOURS

WHO: Youth considering LPS, MLS, MLC, or WLS.
WHAT: A chance to experience the schools and accommodations, have conversations about ministerial education, and meet others who are thinking about joining the ministry like you are. Travel expenses are subsidized, and food and lodging are free.
WHERE: Tours go various schools, sometimes hitting more than one in a single trip.
